One of my fondest memory of Greg was time we all went fishing at Holly's dad’s lake. Dan came with us to show us where the best fishing holes were. All the kids, were betting on who could catch the most fish. They kept catching the same few fish over and over and wanted to count it as a different one each time because it took their bait. We didn’t keep any of the fish, we just caught and released but the same few fish would bite over and over again. Poor fish had so many holes in it’s mouth. Chester caught the biggest one of all of us. There for a minute, I thought it was going to pull her in. I was kept busy putting bait on their hooks for them and a big time was had by all. Dan laughed so hard that day, he looked as if he was 30 years younger. He has ask many times since when I was bringing Gregg and the kids back to fish again. Strange how time passes you by when you say we’ll do it next week and loved ones grow up. Still to this day we debate on who really caught the most fish that day.
My fondest memory of Greg was time we spent sitting on a balcony at Ocean Isle Beach. We talked about his life and all the things that were going on in it. The stories he had and the experiences he spoke of touched me and took me back in time. It was one of the only times that he and I truly communicated on that level. Just as he did for everyone in his life, he made me smile and I'll never forget that night.
my fondest memories of Greg begin when he accidentally shot me in the booty with a bb gun while i was walking home from the grandparents home and he and brandon were tooling around with this bb gun...from that far away, he managed to hit me...anyway, the both took off running and laughing. then, when Greg was around 5 yrs old, we took him to Disney World and right when we were walking to the castle, Moma was like "look Greg, look at Mickey Mouse"...greg was watching something else oblivious to Mickey and he said.."Amy, come here and look at these bugs!" while in line waiting on the "Haunted Mansion" ride, the werewolves in the speakers began howling and Greg got scared and said, "Amy, whats that?" she said, "those are the werewolves." Greg turned and looked and turned back around again, all the fear gone and said "I till(kill) em!" as long as i knew Greg, he was determined to always smile in the face of fear with the attitude of "I will accomplish this"; always eager for the next big step with determination to overcome any challenge, but with a heart of gold and a smile that leaves a lasting memory in my mind. i think that as young as Greg was, God welcomed Gregs smile and now, no matter how near or far or young or old, we can take comfort in knowing that Greg can forever watch over everyone of us until we can join him at Home. i'll miss you Greg, but i know that ill see you soon and i know that Moma is helping you along your way now in Heaven. You were like a little brother to me and now when i smile, ill think of all the wonderful memories we've shared together.
I remember the time I made Greg get his hair cut before school started. And of course he wasn't thrilled about it, because he wanted it to grow long. I took him to Melissa Ellis, and she cut it and he looked handsome of course. He was so upset and mad that he broke out in hives. I still kid Melissa about that to this day.
